Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office offers free Crime Prevention Security Surveys

Dear Spring Lakes Residents,

We have great news! The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office offers free Crime Prevention Security Surveys to help keep our homes and neighborhood safer. These assessments are conducted by specially trained Crime Prevention Specialists who will evaluate your property and provide expert recommendations to enhance security.

What Does the Survey Include?
A deputy sheriff will conduct a visual and physical inspection of your home or business, focusing on:
✅ Alarm systems
✅ Door & window locks
✅ Exterior lighting
✅ Bushes & trees that may affect visibility
✅ Security of yard items, bicycles, sheds, and more
✅ Smoke alarms

This free service is available Monday–Friday during business hours and is scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

How to Schedule
To set up an appointment, simply email the Crime Prevention Unit at [email protected].

  1. See Something, Say Something!
The Sheriff’s Office also encourages all residents to report:
Contact LCSO at any time regarding anything suspicious:
    1. Emergency: 9-1-1
    2. Non-Emergency: 703-777-1021
    3. Online Traffic Complaints:   https://lfportal.loudoun.gov/Forms/TrafficComplaint (can also be linked to directly from the main page of The Sherriff’s Office website: https://sheriff.loudoun.gov/. It’s located on the right side, directly below the main picture)
  2. If you are interested in knowing what is going on the county, every Monday-Friday The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) puts out a daily incident report of items of media interest. They can be found on (Daily Incident Report | Loudoun County, VA – Official Website) or residents can sign up to receive them via email through Alert Loudoun (Alert Loudoun | Loudoun County, VA – Official Website)
  3. Residents can also use the website CityProtect (www.cityprotect.com). This is a free, public website that the LCSO uses. It is updated once every 24 hrs. and contains information on most of our calls for service. You simply enter an address, and the map zooms to the location. Once you set the parameters (date, timeframe, types of calls, etc.), you can see information on what deputies responded to in the area.
